Kids Knitwork Story

Kids Knitwork  is a place for children to explore and express their creativity while learning a hip and useful skill.  Here kids love learning how to turn yarn into knitted projects; we wet-felt, fingerknit, make pom-pom, weave using a loom, upcycle old wool sweaters, dye wool roving and yarn using kool-aid, and have so much fun doing all sorts of fiber arts and crafts.  Ms. Larisa has taught knitting to kids and adults in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2005 and is now spreading the love of knitting in the Seattle area.

Knitting is recognized for improving kids' concentration, dexterity and math skills, while building their confidence and healthy self-esteem.  It's been a required subject in Waldorf Education for years, and is now catching on in schools around the country.   Check out this interesting article from Education World about the comeback of knitting and its perks.
